CBT for Anxiety, OCD & Depression

Evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, and related conditions.

With advanced clinical training, our team provides personalized care in New Jersey, New York, & California.

Change is not easy, and often the most difficult part is making the decision to seek help.

For many people, admitting that they need help is hard, but it is not a sign of weakness. It takes a great deal of courage to take this initial step.

As psychologists, we do everything in our power to ensure that our clients are given appropriate and evidence-based interventions to maximize positive change.

Advanced CBT Expertise for Complex Concerns

CBT Specialists is led by doctoral-level clinical psychologists with advanced certification in cognitive and behavioral therapy. Dr. Julie DiMatteo is board-certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology, while Dr. Cynthia Radnitz is a certified cognitive therapist through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.

These credentials represent training and evaluation beyond standard psychology licensure. Our clinicians understand not only how to deliver CBT techniques, but also how to identify the factors keeping symptoms going and adapt treatment for complex, longstanding, or treatment-resistant concerns.

Providers at our practice have advanced training in:

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety disorders (such as generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias)

  • Exposure and response prevention (ERP) and inference-based CBT (I-CBT) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE) for trauma

  • Comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics (CBIT) and Tourette’s Syndrome

  • Comprehensive behavioral treatment (ComB) for body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as trichotillomania (hair pulling) and excoriation disorder (skin picking)

  • CBT and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders

  • Neurodiversity-affirming care for autism

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Our Commitment

We are committed to offering our clients the most up-to-date CBT interventions with substantial research support to show their effectiveness.

At the same time, we consider the individual needs of everyone we see and make sure that the empirically supported interventions we use are tailored to meet their needs while keeping in mind the importance of providing a highly supportive environment conducive to helping people work on improving their lives.

We begin by understanding the specific thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and circumstances keeping your symptoms going. Treatment may include psychoeducation, readings, practical exercises, between-session practice, and regular conversations about what is—or is not—helping. We adjust the pace and strategies to your needs rather than applying the same protocol to everyone.
